Assessment publishers can set up assessments within Smartgrade using any of the following markschemes:
- Value (default). This is the most common markscheme used in Smartgrade and the one that is selected by default. It means that every question will be given a numerical value between 1 and 99 as its mark. The most common usage of this markscheme is for questions with 1-4 marks per question.
- Low/High. This allows you to assign marks of either "Low", "Medium" or "High".
- Demonstrated. This allows you to assign marks of either "Demonstrated" or "Not demonstrated".
- Age band. This allows you to assign marks based on the following age band categories:
- 0-6 months
- 7-12 months
- 13-18 months
- 19-24 months
- 25-30 months
- 31-36 months
- 37-42 months
- 43-48 months
- 49-54 months
- 55-60 months
- 61-66 months
- 67+ months
Markschemes 2-4 in the above list are most commonly used in early years settings, though they are available to anyone publishing an assessment on the platform.
Please note that you cannot mix markschemes within an assessment.
If you would like other markschemes added then please contact help@smartgrade.co.uk to request your preferred option.
