Note: Assessments must have at least six questions to be able to run the quality checker.
There are two ways to create a quality report, depending on whether the assessment was built and run in Smartgrade, or whether it was an external assessment:
For assessments built in Smartgrade
You can create a quality report direct from the My Assessments page. Locate the assessment and select Check Quality from the Actions menu.
The report will begin processing. Click GO BACK TO QUALITY CHECKER.
Your report will appear after a few minutes. You can either wait for the report to show or navigate elsewhere in the product.
For assessments not built in Smartgrade
If the assessment wasn't created in Smartgrade, you can still use our quality checker! You will need to follow these steps:
- Format your file for uploading. Files should be saved as a CSV and formatted as follows:
- In row 1, enter a question number for every question on the assessment in the form "I1, I2" etc (I stands for "Item"). Use only whole numbers for each question, even if on your assessment the questions were named differently. E.G. if you had questions labelled as Q1a and Q1b on your assessment, you would call them I1 and I2 on the upload file.
- In row 2, enter the maximum potential marks for each question. E.G. in the example below, you'll see that Items 4 to 6 all have 2 potential marks.
- In the subsequent rows, enter each students's results. Do not include any student names - just their marks for each question. E.G. in the example below, the first student is in row 3, and you can see that they scored 0 on items 1 and 2, and 3 marks on item 3 etc.
- Navigate to the Quality Checker tab.
- Click CREATE A REPORT.
- Fill in the form with the details of the assessment. You'll be asked for a title, subject, year, assessment window and academic year.
- Click EVALUATE QUALITY. Your report will now generate. This can take a minute or two, during which time you can either wait for the report to show, or navigate elsewhere in the product.
