This article describes the 5 configuration steps required to connect Smartgrade to your Azure AD, to take advantage of single sign-on within your organisation.
Before you start
In order to configure the Smartgrade app for your organisation, you will need to have the "Global Administrator" role in your Microsoft Azure account. If you are not an Azure Active Directory administrator in your organisation, please forward these instructions to an administrator so that they can continue.
Configuration
1. Access the Smartgrade Azure AD app via this link.
2. If you are already logged in as the Microsoft Azure administrator account, you can skip to step 3. If you are not yet logged in, you will see a dialog box similar to to the following. Sign in as instructed.
3. Once logged in, you will see a Permission Request similar to the following. Click Accept.
4. Once you've clicked accept you should be redirected back to the Smartgrade login screen where you will see the following message. Please note that this does not yet mean that SSO is active for your organisation.
5. Once you have completed steps 1-4 above, please contact our helpdesk at help@smartgrade.co.uk to request SSO activation. When contacting us, please include:
Confirmation that you will be using Microsoft SSO
The date you would like SSO to be enabled on (or by)
Our developers will then arrange the switch. After SSO is enabled, all users in your school/MAT will log in using SSO only, and previous Smartgrade passwords will no longer be required.
To prevent staff login issues, check that:
All staff emails in your MIS exactly match the emails in your Microsoft Directory.
Prerequisites for Online Assessments:
All student emails in your MIS exactly match the emails in your Microsoft Directory.
The optional Wonde permission “Student Email Read” must be enabled.
Students need a device to take the test (iPad, tablet, laptop, or PC).
Before running your first assessment, read this article to make sure students can log in successfully to take their test/s.
If you have any issues with the authorisation process, please contact our helpdesk at help@smartgrade.co.uk.
